Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA) 2022 - Visiting Fellowships Program for Immature Researchers
Launched in 2018, the "Make Our Planet Groovy Once again" (MOPGA) initiative has met with worldwide enthusiasm, generating expressions of involvement from a large number of highly qualified students and researchers.
The 26th Conference of the Parties to the United nations Framework Convention on Climatic change (UNFCCC) or COP26 take place from 31 Oct to 12 November in Glasgow (Great britain). France, as a major actor in the fight confronting climate alter and guarantor of the spirit of Paris Agreement, implements a new MOPGA visiting fellowship program that aims to take part in the strengthening of science contribution to the challenges raised by the COPs.
France's Ministries of Europe and Strange Diplomacy (MEAE) and of Higher Instruction, Inquiry, and Innovation (MESRI) in collaboration with Campus France, have implemented a new visiting fellowship program to welcome young strange researchers wishing to conduct further research in France.
The MOPGA Visiting Fellowships Programme for Immature Researchers will be supporting researchers working on topics related to:
- earth system sciences,
- climate change and sustainability sciences,
- free energy transition,
- societal challenges of environmental issues,
- human, animal and ecosystem wellness every bit office equally a "One Health" approach.
To coincide with the One Ocean Summit to exist held in Brest in February 2022, a special attention will exist paid to applications linked to oceans.
Clarification of the Research Project (in English or French):
- Title of the Project
- Keyword (half dozen)
- Abstract of the Enquiry Project (2,000 char. max.)
- Context and Motivation (two,000 char. max.)
- Scientific Objectives (two,000 char. max.)
- Methodology and Planning report (four,500 char. max.)
- Project position in relation with to the MOPGA scientific domain (two,000 char. max.)
- Collaborations and / or impacts for the candidate's country of residence in relation to the research projection proposal (2,000 characters max.)
Who may employ?
Strange researchers holding a doctoral caste for less than 5 years are encouraged to respond to this call for proposals. Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, except French nationals.
xl fellowships volition be awarded to the young researchers over a 12-month menstruum from September 2022.
This fellowship includes the following benefits :
- Monthly allowance of two,500 euros
- Moving allowance of 500 euros
- Support for social security coverage
- Back up for health insurance
A visiting fellowship agreement with the French host institution will be established between the institutions and the laureates. It will specify the means and resource made bachelor by the host laboratory so that the researcher can carry out the research project.
Research themes
Five broad research themes are prioritized:
- Globe systems,
- Climate alter and sustainability,
- Energy transition,
- Societal challenges of environmental issues,
- Human, animate being and ecosystem health equally part every bit a "One Wellness" approach.

Eligibility
Candidates must:
- have obtained their PhD less than 5 years prior to the application (i.e. they must have dedicated their PhD between December 2016 and December 2021included),
- not hold French citizenship,
- not take resided in France after September 1st 2021 (more than 90 days).
The showtime of the visiting fellowship for immature researchers in France is due to take result in September 2022.
Pick Process
Consequent with the aims and requirements of this call for applications, the selection process will unfold in two phases. In the first phase, scientific experts in the covered fields volition evaluate the applications received. In the second phase, an international jury will make the final selection of candidates to receive support.

- PhD Diploma (or certificate of PhD diploma)
- CV of your inquiry supervisor in the French host institution (ii pages max)
- Letter of support from the French host institution
- Letters of recommendation (iii max)
- Passport or proof of ID
Timeline
- November 8th 2021: Application period opens
- January 17th 2022: Application menses ends
- End of June 2022 : Notification of results
- September 2022: Arrival of the laureates in the host French institution and beginning of the one-year research grant.
